Marko Vojnić
A visual artist and lecturer at the Faculty of Textile Technology, University of Zagreb, he was born in Pula in 1980 and studied at the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences in Rijeka and the Academy of Fine Arts in Zagreb, where he graduated in 2007.
He has curated numerous exhibitions, including In an Empty Square in the Heart of the City (Art in the Punk Years), Rojc Community Centre, Pula (2017), and Exhibition of the Art Collective and Punk Rock Band CRASS, Rojc Community Centre, Pula (2019).
He is the editor of several book publications, such as Kazimir Malevich’s God is Not Overthrown (Zadruga Praksa, 2015), and I’m Not Penny Rimbaud! Who the Hell Is Penny Rimbaud? (Itchy Monkey Press, 2021). Additionally, he contributed to The Anarchism and Punk Book / Smash the System: Punk Anarchism as a Culture of Resistance (Active Distribution, 2022), among others.
In addition to visual art and pedagogy, he is actively involved in music and is the founder of the DIY anarchist record label Do It With Others Records. He has been repeatedly awarded for his work, and his artworks are part of numerous museum collections, including the Museum of Contemporary Art of Istria, the Museum of Contemporary Art Zagreb, the Department of Prints and Drawings of the Croatian Academy of Sciences and Arts, the City Museum of Bjelovar, and the Museum of Fine Art Osijek. He lives and works in Zagreb.
